If you are eligible to apply to the ADVANCER Program, please complete the online application. The application package must include all components listed below. Please note that all components are due by the application deadline.

1. The online application form. (Includes research proposal component)
2. A one-page personal statement describing your research interests and how the program will benefit your health care research career in the United States.
3. A curriculum vitae.
4. A letter of support from the director of your postdoctoral program or from your division chief, department chair, or school dean. The letter should guarantee that at least 50% of your time will be protected for research and that you will receive coverage of tuition costs after your faculty or fellow benefits are applied.
5. A letter of support from your primary mentor. The letter should state that the mentor is willing to meet with you for 1 hour each week and will attend an initial meeting with the scholar and program directors to plan for the upcoming year.

Selection Process

A program committee will conduct an initial review and screening process. Preference will be given to the following:

• Candidates who are well qualified and have a high level of interest in and potential for a career in health sciences research.
• Candidates with departments or program directors ensuring that the candidate will have 50% or more protected time to engage in ADVANCER activities during the 12 months of the program.
