Certificate in Clinical Research

The program leading to the Certificate in Clinical Research offers training in the design and conduct of high-quality clinical research involving human subjects. The certificate is granted upon completion of the core curriculum in clinical research (10 credits) plus 5 additional credits of coursework that have been approved by the program leaders. Certificate in Medical Education

The program leading to the Certificate in Medical Education is available for individuals pursuing careers in medical education and clinical teaching. Trainees must complete 7 units of required coursework plus 8 elective credits chosen from the medical education curriculum to meet the individual needs of the student. Master of Science (MS) in Clinical Research

The program leading to the Master of Science in Clinical Research offers training in the design and conduct of high-quality clinical research involving human subjects. The degree requires completion of the core curriculum in clinical research (10 credits); course requirements for one of the specialty tracks focused on research methodologies; elective courses; and a final project or thesis. Master of Science (MS) in Medical Education

The program leading to the Master of Science in Medical Education consists of a tightly integrated curriculum with three components: (1) coursework plus observed teaching activities focusing on adult learning, classroom and clinical teaching skills, curriculum development, innovation in medical education, professional development, and medical administration; (2) additional courses to provide trainees with fundamental research skills; and (3) a project on curriculum development or a mentored research project. Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Clinical and Translational Science

The program leading to the PhD in Clinical and Translational Science is a rigorous training program that is designed primarily for clinicians. The program provides trainees with advanced knowledge of research concepts and with the skills needed to conduct innovative research and develop into independent clinical and translational investigators. Career Education and Enhancement for Health Care Research Diversity (CEED) Program

The CEED Program is designed for University of Pittsburgh faculty members and postdoctoral fellows who are from underrepresented minority groups. The goal of the program is to help trainees successfully compete for early career development awards (such as K08, K12, K23, K25, VA, and other awards) by providing them with intensive training in grant writing, preparation of publications, mentoring, and development of leadership and management skills. Clinical and Translational Science (CTS) Fellowship (TL1)

The TL1 Clinical and Translational Science Fellowship is a translational research training program for pre- and post-doctoral students who find innovative ways to advance research from the initial discovery through improved patient outcomes and health policy. This is a 1-year fellowship that is personalized for each CTS Fellow, based upon their particular phase of translational research (T1-T4). The program provides career development training and a multidisciplinary mentoring team to assist each Fellow in completing one or more translational research projects.

Leading Emerging and Diverse Scientists to Success (LEADS)

The Leading Emerging and Diverse Scientists to Success (LEADS) program is a one-year program that provides applied professional skill development, networking, and career guidance and coaching to postdoctoral fellows and junior faculty at Minority Serving Institutions.
