Certificate in Medical Education
Enhancing the professional education and teaching skills of clinical faculty and community preceptors
This certificate program is flexible and allows students to choose courses within the Medical Education program that align with their learning and professional goals. Students in this program typically choose courses in teaching and learning to enhance their skills as a clinician-educator at either a university or community-based program. The program is typically completed over one year of part-time study.
- Individualized Training
Students pursuing the Certificate can select from a wide variety of courses in both our Medical Education and Clinical Research Programs to fulfill the program requirement.
- Built for Clinicians
Our courses are designed with the busy clinician schedule in mind. Instead of the traditional, 15-week-long graduate course, our courses are 1 or 2 months in duration. Additionally, several of our courses are now offered online and in a hybrid format. We strive to keep our programs practical, flexible, and convenient, while maintaining the rigor you’d expect from a renowned research university like the University of Pittsburgh.
