MS in Medical Education Alumni Earn Society of General Internal Medicine Awards
Two alumni of the Master of Science in Medical Education Degree Program, Dr. Jennifer Corbelli and Dr. Adam Sawatsky, were presented with awards at the 2021 Society for General Internal Medicine (SGIM) Annual Meeting. Jennifer Corbelli, MD, MS, is the recipient of the 2021 Mid-Career Education Mentorship Award, which recognizes outstanding mid-career clinician educators who are actively engaged in education research and mentorship of junior clinician educators. Dr. Corbelli is Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program at the University of Pittsburgh.
Adam Sawatsky, MD, MS, is the recipient of the 2021 National Award for Scholarship in Medical Education. This award brings greater attention to the many types of original work that SGIM members have performed to improve medical education on a national level. Dr. Sawatsky is Associate Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine.
