Doris Duke Program

The Doris Duke Clinical Research Fellowship Program provides medical students who are intending to pursue a career in clinical research with an intensive year-long research experience before their final year of medical school. Funded by the Doris Duke Foundation, students from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and other medical schools conduct mentored research and participate in a longitudinal seminar that provides them with a wide exposure to clinical research disciplines. They also take clinical research courses that can lead to a certificate or MS. By providing formal research training and providing support for the research year, this program seeks to increase the number of medical school graduates who choose research careers.
